The Zebras is a band from Zagreb consisting of Zvonimir Sever and Branko Markota, with Zvonimir Dusper Dus as the producer. The band’s name originates from the pseudonym of the popular Zagreb club Kulušić, “Zebra,” and in this way they aim to continue telling the story of urban Zagreb music. The band performs original compositions in the pop/rock genre, with elements of funk, very positive vibes, and a dance-oriented character. An EP with five tracks has been recorded, accompanied by corresponding music videos.
The first single, “Nisam ja taj” (“I’m Not the One”), premieres on online platforms, as well as radio and TV stations, on May 5, 2026. The single opens a story about the triumph of good over evil and delivers a popular, danceable funky rhythm with a catchy melody. The music video for the song is the first episode in a series of videos with a storyline that unfolds simultaneously in the years 2526 and 1987. In the year 2526, The Zebras exist as a very popular band on an imaginary planet, where death has already been defeated, universal happiness prevails, and music is the main driving force of civilization. However, the band becomes curious about their origins and discovers the only clue in the date November 11, 1987, in the city of Zagreb on planet Earth. They decide to use forbidden time-travel technology and arrive in Zagreb, following this lead in search of answers about their origins. By chance, they come across a woman whose wallet has just been stolen. They immediately pursue the thief, catch him, and return the wallet to the woman. The wallet is extremely valuable to her because it contains tickets for a concert at Kulušić, where her students’ band—The Zebras—is performing, as she is a teacher at a Zagreb high school. They go to the concert together, and the story continues in the video for the next single. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EaJrogCYL/
